How to Make Your iOS Phone Ring If You Get a Revolar Alert

For those of us who aren’t glued to our phones, it can be helpful to have a little added confidence that we’ll know if a loved one needs us. In this step-by-step tutorial, we’ll walk you through how to set up your compatible iOS smartphone so that it makes noise when you receive a Revolar Alert (even if it's on silent or Do Not Disturb): For Android smartphones, click here.

  1. Find the number that your Revolar opt-in request and/or Revolar Alerts have come from. To do this tap “Messages” iOS Message Icon and then search for “Revolar”. If you’re in the US, this number will be 23351.
  2. Tap the Revolar number.
  3. Tap the iOS Contact Info Icon  icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  4. Tap the > icon in the upper-right corner of the screen (it's just below “Done”).
  5. Tap “Create New Contact”.
  6. Enter “Revolar Alert” in the first name field.
  7. Scroll down a bit and tap “Text Tone”.
  8. Toggle “Emergency Bypass” on.
  9. Choose the Alert Tone or Ringtone that will play if you receive a Revolar Check-in or Alert. We suggest scrolling down and selecting from the Ringtones, as they play for longer than the Alert Tones.
  10. Tap “Done”.
  11. Test that your phone makes noise if you receive a Revolar Alert. To do this, put your smartphone on silent and have a Check-in sent to you.
